The Rhema Mission Church – Statement of Faith

  • We believe the Bible is the infallible, inspired Word of God.  It is the ultimate authority in all matters of faith & everyday living.  (2 Timothy 3:15-16)

  • We believe in one true, eternal God who created all things.  He is revealed to mankind & exists in three persons: Father, Son & Holy Spirit, & these three are one God who rules & reigns in unrivalled sovereignty.  (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19)

  • We believe Jesus Christ is wholly man & wholly God, & that He is the only one who can reconcile man to God.  We believe in His birth to the virgin Mary, His sinless life on this earth, the authority of His teaching, His death on the cross in our place, His resurrection to new life defeating the power of death & His ascension to the right hand of God the Father where He intercedes on behalf of all those who have put their trust in Him.  (Matthew 1:23, Hebrews 7:6,  Acts 2:22, 2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Acts 1:9,         Hebrews 7:25)

  • We believe that man was created pure, but chose to rebel against God & is separated from Him by sin & is subject to His judgement.  (Genesis 1:26-31, Genesis 3:1-7, Romans 5:12-21)

  • We believe that in order to receive forgiveness for our rebellion against God, & be born again by the Holy Spirit we must repent of our sin, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, accept His once & for all sacrifice on the cross for ourselves & submit ourselves under His will for our lives.  (Titus 3:5-7, Romans 10:8-15, John 3:3-6)

  • We believe in order to live fruitful & holy lives set apart for God, we need to be baptised by total immersion in water & to be baptised with the power of the Holy Spirit with signs following, e.g. speaking in tongues.  (Matthew 28:19, Acts 10:47-48, Acts 2:4, Acts 10:44-46, Acts 11:14-16)

  • We believe in the active use of the gifts of the Holy Spirit & the ministries that have been set out in the Church by God as recorded in the New Testament as He empowers us to fulfil the ministry of the Church in worship, evangelism & service.  (1 Corinthians 12:4-11, Ephesians 4:7-16)

  • We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together for fellowship, prayer & the practice of Holy Communion.  (Hebrews 10:24-25, 1 Corinthians 10:16&17)

  • We believe that the Church is the body of Christ & is His representative on Earth.  That we have been equipped by God to successfully achieve His purposes & fulfil the Great Commission given by Jesus Christ to go & make disciples of all the nations.  (Ephesians 5:22-32, Matthew 28:18-20)

  • We believe divine healing is available for those who put their trust in Jesus Christ today, so we can live healthy and blessed lives in order to serve God & help others more effectively.  (Isaiah 53:4-5,

          Matthew 8:16-17, James 5:13-16)

  • We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by whether or not we choose to place our trust in the Lord Christ, accepting Him as our Lord & Saviour.   (2 Thessalonians 1:6-10, Revelation 20:10-15, Daniel 12:2-3)

  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised, In the resurrection of the dead & that a final judgement of the world will take place.  (Rev 22:20-21,  Revelation 20:11-15)

  • We believe that those who have rejected Jesus will be separated from Him forever in eternal punishment, but those who have accepted Him will receive the promise of eternal life that Christ is preparing for them in the New Heaven & the Earth where they will live with Him forevermore.   (Revelation 20:11-15,        Revelation 21:1-8)

  • We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning – that is marriage sanctioned by God, which joins one man & one woman in a single, exclusive union.  (Genesis 2:22-24, Ephesians 5:22-33)
